Rogue Nation
THE UNRAVELLING OF DC’S RESIDENT TRICKSTER
Following the recent military strikes against the Islamic Republic of Iran, it seems a nigh on impossible mission for American Presidents to resist the bloodlust that drips from the walls of the Oval Office. Echoes of past wars and whispers of yet future conflicts seem to drown out the glib silence of peace. Talks of war always seem to be bubbling beneath the surface occasionally manifesting in random military strikes and rogue actions such as presidential kidnap hither and thither. A heavy sickness lies over this White House. Infecting all who seat behind the ornate desk. Tragically, President Trump seems to have finally succumbed to this illness. Lessons from the Middle East crisis triggered decades earlier by the Weapons Of Mass Destruction(WMD) hoax seem to be now lost on the President. In spite of his numerous proclamations of being the President of Peace Trump has shown himself to be just as duplicitous as his forbears. An unreliable narrator who trumpets his own “accomplishments” while bathing his followers in wave after wave of disappointment. For brief moments during his first and second Presidential terms the American people and by extension the global populace could rest easy knowing that America’s forever wars were a thing of the past. Sadly, in his wilful failure to end the money laundering scam in Ukraine President Trump opened up himself to the seduction of power, the powerful and his own whims. In revealing himself to be a bad faith negotiator and a trickster it seems that the President ultimately tricked himself and sadly any who had hopes of a peaceful American Presidency. America is now fully and truly a rogue nation subject to the whims of its ruling class.

In June last year when the Americans decided to strike the nuclear facilities in Iran at the behest of their Israeli counterparts, it was supposed to be a once off decapitation strike. Much was made about the “total obliteration” of the alleged illegal nuclear enrichment programs. Recent “negotiations” between the Americans and the Iranians prove that this was indeed a farce. Both parties seemingly acknowledging that the highly enriched nuclear materials still exist. The Iranians then launched devastating reprisal attacks against Israel and an American military base in Qatar. When the conflict seemed untenable the Americans and Israeli’s backed off the now infamous Twelve-Day war. Throughout this tense and unnecessary period the President openly commented on his ignorance to Israeli actions in the region. Either showing himself to be incompetent, a liar or both. Ultimately, the seeming ruse of distancing himself from Israeli actions collapsed under its own weight laying bare the President’s complicity. Thankfully, a major war was averted and a fragile peace brokered. Months later and all attempts at peace have been abandoned. The Iranians are now at the mercy of the world’s most powerful military force. Caught up in a war they will ultimately lose. However, all of us will incur the high cost and bear the burden of this renewed madness. The closure of the Straits of Hormuz will have catastrophic impacts on the oil markets with rippling effects across various industries across the globe. Shipping costs will go up as will the cost of manufacturing. A knock on effect that will affect the global economy. Risks of a broader regional conflict can never be fully alleviated and Iran’s allies may be forced to participate in some shape or form. Once more over the past five years we are forced to rely on the goodwill, determination and elder statesmanship of purported mad men Presidents Xi and Putin.
The chances of a negotiated peace seem to have evaporated as Trump has shown himself to be unreliable in his word and a trickster.
During his re-election campaign President Trump promised to end the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian conflict within twenty four hours. We are rapidly speeding to the twenty four month mark after his ascension to the White House and there is no hope for peace in this troubled region. The President and his envoys have played all their cards and have been unable to stop the Russian war machine. To some, It was evident from the start of this avoidable war that Ukraine had lost on day one. The Russians and the rest of us losing it everyday since as hopes for peace have been repeatedly bashed. Attacks against the Kremlin by the Ukrainians with a strong likelihood of assistance and planning from western intelligence agencies have been shrugged off in the midst of peace talks. The President has repeatedly shown himself to be unclear on his positions. Much like an unanchored ship hammered by the raging sea, or in this instance, an unprincipled man whose opinion changes on a dime. The chances of a negotiated peace seem to have evaporated as Trump has shown himself to be unreliable in his word and a trickster. A man who promises one thing in an official capacity and does the opposite unofficially. Negotiations held seem to have been nothing more but a ruse. A ploy to play pretend diplomacy but in reality no desire and commitment to peace or mutual agreement. No meeting of partners or equals. Simply a dominant American position imposed from on high with the other parties expected to give up everything and receive nothing in return. Bloodletting without any care or concern for the affected. Russians, Ukrainians, Iranians, Syrians and Yemenis all treated like pieces of meat blown up for sport in the killing fields.

For many acolytes it was very unclear why the President was reticent to have the Epstein files released. While many theories have been floated on the internet, many of his supporters never wavered in their belief in his innocence in the sordid affair. The files recently released seem to exonerate him as does the testimony of some of the women who were caught up in the scandal. On a call with former Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, a once ardent ally, he reportedly told her that the release of the files would destroy some of his friends. This seems that the President was bearing down his full weight on his party to deter accountability for one of the century’s worst crimes to protect people close to him at the expense of his own reputation and the desire of many Americans. At best this is a case of misguided loyalties and misguided priorities at worst its loyalty to alleged paedophiles. The intelligence agencies have also largely received a free pass yet they were aware of Mr. Epstein’s activities and in all likelihood were actively involved. Time after time the FBI have been proven to be active accomplices in many of the heinous crimes occasionally exposed by intrepid journalists. The Russia Hoax, then under the intelligence agency Moniker “Crossfire Hurricane” is the brightest beacon shining a light on the intelligence agencies attempts to overthrow a duly elected American President. No accountability to date. Disgraced physician Lawrence Nassar was free to sexually assault the women in his care under the “watchful” eye of the FBI. There has still been no meaningful accountability for the FBI agents who mishandled this affair. Yet, the President seemingly welcomes their assessments with glee when it aligns with his agenda.
Ultimately Trump has showed himself to be a man of weak character and poor judgement. His supporters, who contrary to media proclamations consist of vast swathes of America, can no longer blame his decision making on naiveté. He is fully responsible for his actions. Perhaps we were all tricked by a clever charade or perhaps the President was never truly incorruptible. He has finally become the villain his detractors accused him of being from the onset of his foray into public office. A disaster and a tragedy for us all. As a nation, America is now more of what it always has been: A deadly enemy and a poisonous ally.
